New stock arrives at OSPREY LONDON
We love it when we get a phone call from our favourite brands giving us a sneaky tip about when new stock is arriving in store. So imagine our delight when OSPREY LONDON told us they would be getting a delivery of new handbags this week!

New accessories brand arrives from down under
Since a girl can never have too many accessories (have you ever heard such an absurd suggestion?), we’re super excited to welcome leading Australian brand Mimco to the outlet. The newly launched store is the brands first in a UK outlet so we Swindonites should feel particularly privileged.
Offering up to 60 per cent off its signature range of creatively designed jewellery, handbags, shoes, sunglasses, hats and watches, naturally we’ve already raided the store and come away with some great finds, from gorgeous day bags to statement necklaces, to plump-up our ever-expanding accessories throng.

Working it with BBC2
Last Thursday, we all gathered round the television to watch the outlet make a star appearance on BBC 2’s Working Lunch programme. ‘Exciting’ is not the word; we were positively brimming with pride seeing Swindon up there on screen in all its glory!
Those of you who tuned in will have caught our personal shopper Judith expertly guiding presenter Michael Miller around to pick out some of the top buys the centre has to offer.

Belt up!
Believe it or not, the outlet has been open for a whole thirteen years now (doesn’t time fly?), and one store that’s been with us from the very beginning is Worldbelts, located in the South Mall.
We had a chat with Stephen Green, owner and manager of the leather goods retailer, to find out more about what Worldbelts has to offer us savvy shoppers.
“We’ve been here since the centre opened and on this particular corner for the last six years,” says Stephen. “Our location means we’re right in the thick of things and that we’re familiar to lots of the customers.”
“We get through around 230 belts worth of leather a week, but we don’t just make belts here – we fix and make handbag straps can also make other items like wristbands. We’ve even made a few items for war re-enactment enthusiasts!”

Swindon’s stylish ladies get swish
We had the most fabulous time channeling the spirit of the Sex & The City girls at the centre’s first ever swish party (see previous blog), organised by our lovely personal shopper Judith.
Some of the centre’s stores, including Hobbs, LK Bennett, Jaeger and Austin Reed, also got in on the action by donating clothes to the cause and we had a fine old time raiding the rails alongside other eagle eyed shoppers.
We ended the night on a high knowing that our style stock had gone up and that the few unclaimed clothes that remained would be taken along to Prospect Hospice charity shops (waste not, want not…).
Having a field day
We’ve already doled out some top tips on looking fab at this summer’s festivals (see previous blog), but we’re well aware that perfecting your wardrobe is not the full story when it comes to preparing yourself for a weekend of camping.
While there are plenty of great things about attending a British festival, there are also a minefield of potential pitfalls (we’re talking, rain, mud and, dare we say it; the dreaded portaloos) but our philosophy is: if you’re going to rough it, then rough it in style.

Getting Carrie-d away
We’ve got to say that we’re rather tired of our style mistakes taunting us from the depths of the wardrobe (skinny jeans with my hips?! Please…); thank goodness, then, that Swindon’s personal shopper Judith is giving us a chance to redeem our past fashion faux-pas.
On Thursday 1 July Judith will be hosting a Sex & The City themed ‘Swish’ Party inspired by Carrie and co’s fearlessness to fashion. For those of you unfamiliar with the concept, a swish party is where everyone brings along any unwanted clothes with a view to swapping them for someone else’s cast off’s. After all – they do say one women’s trash is another ones treasure….
Some of the outlet’s stores are also getting involved by donating clothes and shoppers who come along can look forward to some extra special SATC themed surprises.
